Description

A wonderful Haydnesque work, being one of many that he scored for baryton trio – just as Haydn had.
Coincidence? Not really.
He studied and performed under Haydn, eventually succeeding him as Konzertmeister in the prince’s orchestra at his court in Eisenstadt, the prince being also an enthusiastic Baryton player.
The Baryton is now only played by early instrument enthusiasts. It was held between the knees like a cello but has a set of sympathetic strings to create a distinctive resonance.
And it converts into a really super viola trio. I have preserved the original format where the 1st player mostly has the upper line. 8 mins. E/M
