Speaking as a string player I would have to admit that I don’t know a lot about Chopin’s music, since everything he wrote had a piano in it. But if I were to speak for all pianists, I could certainly talk at length about how sublime his music is. And it truly is! So Chopin had the good sense to stick with what he did best: the piano. Ah, but if only he could have written a viola quartet, how great would that be? Say no more. This Fantasy for viola quartet is indeed utterly sublime. 16 mins. M
