Description
Jean-Baptiste Loellet was a Flemish baroque composer born in Ghent. But after studying in Paris he moved to London. So he’s not to be mistaken for his cousin, Jean-Baptiste Loeillet, also a Flemish baroque composer born in Ghent who didn’t move to London.
Just thought I’d make that clear.
Anyway, this is a wonderful piece of writing, being a beautifully balanced sonata in four movements that really brings out the beauty of the viola timbre. 12 mins. E/M
