Three Seventeenth Century English Aires for Viola Ensemble

£7.99

Description

Presenting a volume featuring the work of three of the greats from the 17th Century: John Jenkins, Matthew Locke, and Orlando Gibbons.

I have compiled and edited these works to make them accessible to the modern viola scholar. Therefore they can be played entirely in 1st position, and all the parts are evenly matched from the technical perspective. All bowings and expression marks have been fully included.

They will make a very useful introduction to ensemble playing, be it either in a viola orchestra or a solo viola quartet.

Yet despite all that they are, first and foremost, wonderful pieces of music and would be ideal for players of any standard and entirely suitable for concert performance. 17mins. E/M
