Description
This super work was originally scored for horn and piano, but it makes for a really pleasing viola quartet. Indeed, Beethoven himself used some of the material in later chamber works, so I like to imagine, that had time allowed, he would eventually have spotted the viola possibilities therein. He was, after all, a violist himself.
It’s in 3 movements, although the middle movement is really a slow introduction to the exciting finale. 16 mins. M/A
