Description
Orlando di Lassus (1532-1594) from the Netherlands was a hugely versatile and influential composer and teacher of the late Renaissance period. He was widely travelled to the great musical capitals of Europe, and his rise to fame was nothing short of meteoric.
What I love about his music are the subtle harmonies and ingenious chromaticism, taking the listener on a journey through a magical landscape of sound. Truly delightful.
This superb short work would be a wonderful introduction to ensemble playing for the viola scholar – or indeed anyone. 3 mins. E
