Presenting the first and longest movement from Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major, a work that has become essential for every violin soloist, and is a perennial favourite with audiences everywhere.  

So it might seem a slightly odd choice to make for any composer/arranger, say, who may be exploring the possibilities for material to adapt for a certain fearsome viola foursome. But strange as it may seem, this actually makes for a very successful and highly virtuosic viola quartet, with all the excitement and passion of the original.

There are tricky moments for all the players, but it is the 1st viola that has slightly more to do in that respect. But what a great way to wow your audiences! 16 mins. A
