Description

For a short period in musical history there was a fashion for writing Impromptus (mostly for piano) thus freeing the composer of some of the traditional formal compositional constraints, the object being to create something that had an improvisational character, although in reality they were meticulously constructed.

So I couldn’t resist the challenge of arranging this superb work. And it makes for a very enjoyable viola quartet with lots of interest for all the players, and as a bonus it lies very easily under the fingers. This is as good as it gets! 9 mins. M
