Description
Shortly after Jonathan Swift’s famous novel was published, Telemann created this fabulous five-movement duo. I hardly need mention that it sounds way better as a viola duo than the original two violins.
Two remarkable features: The second movement, with a time signature of 3-over-32, where the longest note is a 32nd, and the third movement, with a time signature of 24-over-1, where the shortest note is a whole-note! Notwithstanding this whimsical musical reflection of the novel, it really is a super piece of music. 7.5 mins. M
P.S. It also includes a rendering of the ”metaphorical” movements into more conventional time signatures -phew!
