Description
Georges Enesco, one of Romania’s greatest composers, violinist, teacher, and conductor.
As child prodigy, aged just 7, he became the youngest ever student to be admitted to the Vienna Conservatory. And he went on to make a considerable name for himself both in Europe and in the USA. Amongst his many renowned students was my old boss from my early string quartet days, Yehudi Menuhin.
This delightful, and very accessible, Scherzo is taken from his first cello sonata. 8 mins. M
