From one of my favourite composers, a lovely, lyrical, subtle work in 3 movements.
My only niggle with Haydn’s writing is that the viola rarely receives the melodic line. Consigned as we are to the inner harmony parts, it can become tedious. Right?
But with this arrangement of his superb piano trio I am happy to say that all the players have lots of interesting lines to play. Wonderful! 17 mins M
