Marcello – Viola Quartet in C Minor

£4.55

Description

Alessandro Marcello, the Italian Baroque composer, seems to be less well known than his contemporaries, Vivaldi and Albinoni. Yet his Oboe Concerto in D minor is still a favourite – particularly with oboists, of course. It even caught the attention of J S Bach, who arranged it for keyboard.

Well, if it’s good enough for Bach I don’t mind having a go myself.

So, now in the key of C Minor, I think it really makes for a very pleasing viola quartet in 3 movements, with lots of lovely melodies for all the players. 10 mins. M
