Re-cycling at work …
This piece of music started life as a piano duet, then became a piano solo, followed by an orchestral suite (as it is most often heard these days), and then a ballet.
But wait! It is now a viola quartet.
I have arranged it mostly from the orchestral suite, but using the original duo version as reference, occasionally.
Parts 1 and 2 are slightly harder than the others, so I would rate them suitable for Moderate/Advanced players, and parts 3 and 4 are suitable for Moderate abilities.
It is in 5 movements, but the third movement comes in 2 versions, the second being in an alternative key of F major rather than F sharp major. The original F sharp major (6 sharps) does look a little scary at first, but it is quite playable. But the alternate F major version, as well as looking a lot friendlier, allows the use of more open strings for better pizzicati. 15 mins. M, M/A
