Description

Vincent d’Indy (1851-1931) was one of France’s most influential musicians, as much through his teaching as from his actual composing. His own music was influenced by the works of the great German romantics. Thus it became a synthesis of French and German styles.

This work was originally for solo cello and orchestra, but it makes for a wonderfully intimate viola quartet. Lovely. 8 mins. M
